Technological contribution

Our technological contribution started from facilitating the reactor manufacturer with our know-how related to the reactor for the decontamination of POPs. The reactor was tested for a broad scale of solid materials containing POPs. The decontamination process was optimized on the basis of measured results. Other contribution was a complex analytical support for both assessment of technological processes from the point of view of destruction pathways and their compositions and potential effluents, and appropriate data analysis of acquired data on one common warehouse and data-analytical platform.

Technological contribution

ESSENCE LINE  contributes to the project by optimization of analytical processes and analyzing the genotoxicity and endocrine disrupting activity of the starting material and products of the decontamination reactor process and thus testing its efficiency. The obtained data were analyzed and used to optimize the overall technology of the decontamination procedures especially in regards to the reaction conditions.

Technological contribution

EnProCo Berlin carries out optimization of the physico-chemical processes and the design of the catalytic decomposition with a special focus on the reactor heat recuperation. Additionally, advanced chemical engineering was applied in order to optimize the process using its highly experienced engineers and technicians by means of computing a complex process mass & enthalpy balances, cutting-edge technology process analysis and modification of the downstream operations. Finally, separation and purification of crude products and scale up scenarios was elaborated. The research project development included lab to process scale, separation optimization and a combination of chemical reaction with the product separation.

Technological contribution

Xenometrix contributed to the project especially using its highly qualified expertise with development and production of bioassays in optimizing the analytical procedure and equipment to analyze the process efficiency of the decontamination reactor hand in hand with the laboratory unit performing the tests of genotoxicity and endocrine disrupting activity in the field.
